CASE SOLVED

Jeffrey Hammill, 21, was found deceased in the early morning hours of August 11, 1979 on County Road 12 in Marysville Township (Wright County). He was found face up, in a pool of blood with blunt force wounds to his head.

Hammill, a machinist, was seen the evening of August 10, 1979 at the County West Bar in Rockford. It is believed that while walking home to Buffalo after the bar closed, he was picked up and taken to a gathering in the neighboring town of Montrose. Witnesses said he was last seen leaving the gathering around 2:00 a.m. Law enforcement believes there are witnesses still in the area and that physical evidence may still exist that could prove critical to the case.

Please bring closure to the family and friends of Jeffrey Hammill, and bring his killer(s) to justice.
