REWARD OFFERED ON ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
OF MISSING PERSON CASE; FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED
Investigators asking Minnesotans to help to search for victim
SAINT PAUL, Minnesota (February 26, 2010) — Spotlight on Crime today announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the disappearance of Harold Schroetter. He was last seen at his Falcon Heights home one year ago today. Investigators believe Schroetter is the victim of foul play, but they have been unable to locate his body.
Investigators hope the reward encourages someone to come forward with information. Investigators are also urging Minnesotans, particularly residents who live in the Twin Cities, Mille Lacs County or locations in between, to walk their properties in search of Schroetter.
About the case:
Harold Schroetter, Falcon Heights: Disappeared February 26, 2009
57-year-old Harold Schroetter was last seen at his Falcon Heights home on the morning of
February 26, 2009. Jacqueline Dubay, who lived in the home at the time, reported Schroetter missing on the afternoon of February 27. Schroetter had been in the process of ending his relationship with Dubay at the time of his disappearance. Dubay told investigators that Schroetter may have gone to visit Grand Casino Mille Lacs in Onamia, MN, and he did not return. On March 1, St. Anthony police found Schroetter’s red Chrysler Crossfire in the area of Jackson Street and Arlington Avenue in
St. Paul.
On March 17, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension interviewed Jacqueline Dubay and searched her vehicle, a white Chrysler 300. Investigators found Schroetter’s blood in the trunk of Dubay’s vehicle. Their investigation also revealed Dubay’s brother, Jay Dubay, purchased a new trunk liner for the vehicle on March 5th. Despite an extensive investigation, authorities have been unable to locate Schroetter’s body.
Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact the St. Anthony Police Department at 612-782-3350 or the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at 651-793-7000 or 877-996-6222.
